A Port lover’s dream. Made from Touriga Francesca, Tinta Roriz and others too, it’s a dense, inky-purple colour, and is a richly hedonistic experience (even in half bottle!). Complex, super ripe berried fruits are gently spiced, and its sweet and unctious palate is both elegant and balanced too, with real length. Casal dos Jordoes was the first and indeed only fully certified Port producer. Try their Tawny and Vintage too, all are drinking very well now, but will age gracefully. Remember also, there is no need to drink the bottle at one sitting, once opened it will keep well for a couple of weeks at least. Enjoy near a warming fire on its own, or with mature cheeses.

Deep, bright colour and ripe fruit on the nose. Hints of jasmine and dark perfume. The wine has well-structured tannins from a post-ferment maceration. There is no wood influence, only ripe organic Merlot grapes. There is no sulphur added to this delicious wine, and we call this a low sulphur wine because in tests, ‘normal’ wines can have as much as 200 parts per million and this tested with just 5 parts per million.

No Added Sulphur wines are certainly in vogue at present and this “Rioja” grape excels in the hot arid central plains of La Mancha. It is ripe, black fruit forward and juicy with soft tannins and a fine clean finish.

Carta Roja Pura, an organic and no sulphur added wine, has been created by Ehrmanns with Bodegas San Isidro to meet the growing demand for sustainable wines that treat the environment with respect. The wine is made from organically grown grapes in the rugged valleys of DO Jumilla in southern Spain, where the climate is ideal for organic viticulture. Low-yielding old bush-vines with roots deep in the baked limestone soil, create an intense wine, with smooth tannins and the ripe dark berry notes typical of the Monastrell grape. The absence of added sulphur during the winemaking process ensures the purity of fruit shines through in every glass. Carta Roja Pura is suitable for vegans and with no sulphur added during the winemaking process reduces the likelihood of allergic reactions.

An abundance of fresh, red fruits on the nose. It's light, fresh and crisp in the mouth and resonates with the pure Malbec fruit.

Fantastic wine from Couronneau. Merlot-dominated, this Bordeaux has been made with ‘easy-drinking’ very much in mind. They’d probably kill us for saying so, but it’s got some of that New World ripeness that makes wines from countries like Chile so popular. Ripe, soft Merlot fruits dominate.

Fantastic new Rhône find. Grenache and Syrah predominate in this cuvee, with just 10% each of Carignan and Cinsault. All grapes are hand harvested at this family run estate, and fermentation is natural. The resultant unoaked wine is all about pure fruit enjoyment, and it’s guaranteed!

A delicious and expressive blend of Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile.

Black cherry red with intense blackcurrant and typical green capsicum notes, that give way to hints of black pepper, tobacco leaf and chocolate. The palate presents medium body and very smooth, lush tannins. This wine is very easy to drink and stands out for its great balance and fresh finish.

Colchagua Valley has 20,000 hectares of plantations. These grapes grow under a unique climate, made by the Andes winds together with the coastal breeze, helping varieties such as Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen well. The average age of the vertically-positioned vines is 13 years, and they yield an average of 8 tons per hectare. The Colchagua Valley stands out for its Mediterranean climate with four well-defined seasons. The summers are hot and dry, which encourages proper ripening without interruptions. The valley ends at the Pacific Ocean, which has a positive effect on the vineyards because it cools the valley during the hot season. The grapes were picked into 400-kg bins and transported to the cellar where they were deposited onto conveyor belts for a double selection process before and after destemming. Vinification began with a 4–5-day pre-fermentation maceration at 8ºC. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with 80% native and 20% commercial yeasts at 26º–27ºC with a pumpover program determined by enological criteria. Upon completion, the new wine remained on its skins for an addition 5 days of post-fermentation maceration. Malolactic fermentation took place naturally in stainless steel tanks and barrels, where the wine remained at controlled temperatures for 12 months. The wine was neither fined nor stabilized, and prior to bottling it was filtered through a 1-micron membrane. The wine was aged for 12 months, 40% in French oak barrels, 30% in American, and 30% in stainless steel tanks.

Ideal with grilled or roasted red and white meats, such as grilled skirt steak, roast pork with wine and spice reduction, and pepper-crusted steak. Best served at 16º–17ºC in a Bordeaux-style glass.

This winery was founded in the 1950s and sold wine in bulk to local wine merchants. When the Descombes took over, in 2017, everything changed. They switched its sights to quality, not quantity – focusing on the environmental conservation of their coveted Burgundy plots. They've even gone as far to plant hedges and trees and use natural fertilisers in the vineyards. This is their Petit Chablis, and it has all the classic flavours you'd expect: lemon and grapefruit, and a textbook lick of minerality.

The Cortese grapes are handpicked and fermented in stainless steel tank before being aged on its lees for three months. giving fantastic concentration, richness, and mouth-watering freshness.
