Oadby Farmers Market started in September 2012 in a Partnership between Oadby and Wigston Borough Council and Leicestershire Food Links.
Oadby Farmers Market takes place every month on the fourth Friday from 9am to 1.30pm along The Parade, Oadby LE2 5BF.
At the market you can expect to find organic and specialist meats including hams, bacon, pork, sausages, lamb and goat as well as seasonal fruit, honey, preserves, a wealth of savoury and sweet baked products, local cheeses, beer, wines and ciders, and much more.
Regular traders like Picks Organic Farm, Brocklebys and Annie's Eggs will be there, offering the best tasting fresh local produce you can find.
When Oadby and Wigston Borough Council brought in a Town Centre Manager as a shared service, part of the remit was to investigate the introduction of specialist markets in the Borough. The Town Centre Manager worked with a local Co-operative group called Leicestershire Food Links to instigate Farmers Markets within the Borough.
Recently Leicestershire Food Links have had to pull out of operating all of their farmers markets, the Markets are now run by the traders.
